Welcome to my first attempt at using a blog as a ministry tool! I’m excited…I love trying new things AND my hope is that this blog will enrich the experience for the Four Great Psalms Short Course, begun last night!
Here’s some cool comments from last night’s class:
- One person said, “this is the first formal Bible study I’ve ever attended…” (How awesome… welcome! God’s Word is wonderful and it is twice as nice–at least–when shared with others!)
- Paul Fromm said, “Hey, what about verses 19-22 of Psalm 139 where the writer asks God to kill his enemies?” (I wish we had gotten to it…truth is the Psalms often have what seem like inconsistencies in them. It’s sort of like those pictures from grade school: “which of these things is not like the other one?”).
On this blog you can download the Study Sheet for next week (10/22) if you need another copy, or weren’t there this week. Along the top of this page, click the tab that says “Study Sheets Here”.
Remember, the parking lot on the Niagara Falls Blvd. side of the building may be your best bet next Monday (the side door near the sanctuary OR the big glass doors on the preschool will get you there). And you’ll get a great view of our new LCD sign! It is scheduled to be installed this Friday. We’re praying that, ultimately, that sign will help more people connect with Jesus (who knew? A sign can do that???!!?). Our Ministries Operations Manager (MOM), Tim Hartnett and his crew have been working hard to get this in place!
Loving to be in the Word with you,
Sue

Sue – great class and thanks for pushing me to keep learning new things. Blogging still leaves me uneasy, so the best way to get over that is to keep trying it!

Wendy- thanks so much for visiting the blog and for leaving a comment. I’m really just learning the whole power of the blog thing and what really gets me excited is the potential it has for building connections. I just LOVE that possibility.
Great prayer of yours (or David’s) from Psalm 51: make a Genesis week out of the chaos of my life. That Message has some real poetry to it. Thanks again for sharing!

Sue,
As always…loved your class. Psalm 139 has long been my favorite one. It is so full of hope, assurance and PRESENCE! I especially love the verses about how he created us, knowing us completely even before we were conceived. Powerful stuff! Regarding those last verses about hating God’s enemies, I read them as a passionate profession of the writer’s love for God. Looking forward to Monday!

Thanks for posting, Stef. What a great perspective on the enemies piece of Psalm 139. Helps me think of it in a new way!
I am looking forward to Monday, too!
