So, Wednesday is weigh-in day for me (Weight Watchers). There is a First Trinity preschool mom there who is shrinking before our eyes (that’s a good thing at Weight Watchers!). Anyway, last night she told me how happy she is that the Christmas Program had to be moved to this Sunday (December 23rd, 5pm) because their family had other commitments last Sunday. Then she said, “I have to tell you a story, Sue.” (I LOVE sentences that start out that way!).
She said, “We were at my mom’s house over the weekend. My mom’s been having some back problems. We were all sitting on her bed and Zoey (her three year old) said, ‘Grandma, you can pray to Jesus about your back and He will heal you.’” To everyone’s amazement, Zoey folded her hands and began to pray:
“Dear God, Please help Grandma’s back get better. Amen.”
What a moment. I asked my friend if she thinks the preschool has anything to do with that. She almost shouted:
“The preschool has EVERYTHING to do with it. It’s Deb (Zoey’s teacher, Deb Ferrante). It’s all Deb. Zoey prays for me, too, when I have boo-boos. I LOVE it. I just love it.”

I am so thankful for our Early Childhood Center staff! On a daily basis, Beth Vance and her staff share God’s love with two, three and four year olds. They tenderly teach them how to share, what colors and letters are, how to “hold on to the railing” and use inside voices. They sing and paint and play. And in it all, the love of God becomes so clear in their little hearts that it spills over into their lives outside the classroom. I absolutely love it.
“…and a little child will lead them.” - Isaiah 11:6
