The participants in the current Servant Leadership course meet in small groups of 4-5 called Learning Clusters (there are three of them) in between our monthly large group meetings at church. The kicker is we meet in a chat room! Tonight is the first meeting of the Green Cluster…we’ll be discussing the first section of Patrick Lencioni’s book “Death By Meeting” ( I absolutely love that title!). I imagine us all in our comfy clothes (or pj’s!) settled in to have the discussion. Here’s some of the questions we’ll be talking about:
- Are leaders born or made, in your opinion?
- Are meetings really that big of a deal? What is your experience of good meetings? Poor meetings? At church? At work? Family meetings?
- Do you usually come out of meetings energized or depleted? Why?
- Are good meetings the sole responsibility of the leader? How can meeting participants make a difference?
I am excited for tonight…and grateful for people who are willing to try something a little out of their comfort zone. May God bless the cyberspace conversation!

The Red Cluster should have had the first chat! I guess its partly my fault we had to postpone
Still reading the book though; it’s a great book, didn’t think I was going to like it but it’s turning out to be pretty good!

I LOVED this part of the Servant Leadership class I participated in! It wasn’t out of my comfort zone, but I so admired those who tried it and it was for them. And it was AWESOME to put all my little ones to bed and then have adult conversation for a bit! It always went so fast!

It was a great chat last night…there’s something about connecting with people across the community that really jazzes me. Servant leadership is a powerful conversation-starter!!
