I remember the first time we drapped the cross with the scarlet cords several years ago. It was powerful then…and it’s still powerful. The visualization of our sins “dripping” from the cross like Jesus’ blood will never grow old for me. It’s part “gruesome”, part “beautiful”, part “agonizing”, part “reassuring” and all “awesome”. It’s the constant reminder that I need of what he did and the hope that springs forth that act…like the flowers that blossom from the cross on Easter (Resurrection) Sunday.
Thanks for posting the picture - I can stare at it and meditate a little longer!
