Jason wrote about the great meeting we had with Erik Ticen. One of the most energizing meetings I’ve been a part of in a long time! I filled up three pages in my journal writing down what I learned and/heard, so there will probably be pieces of that coming out in this blog in the days and weeks to come. Erik helped us understand the difference between marketing in the business world (”Do whatever it takes to improve the bottom line, even if it means emotionally manipulating people”) and the ministry world (”Emotional manipulation is OUT. Know who God has called you to be and tell that story well”).
Then he said that the truth is the very best marketing strategy a church can have is the people who are a part of that community. When you and I live the lives God is calling us to live–we become His tools for connecting to the people He loves in the world.
Be who God is calling you to be and see what happens!!
