- Sue Brese, our new Traditional Worship coordinator was GIDDY about playing the organ for 8:45 this morning. I actually saw her giggle as she made her way down the hallway towards the balcony stairs. And man, did she play well. I especially loved the bells during the baptism. She played a single chime at these points: Pastor: “I baptize you in the name of the Father *ding* and the Son *ding* and the Holy Spirit *. It was super cool.
- Loved the chance to meet with the parents of the My Bible class and talk about how God has perfectly gifted them to be the key faith-sharers in their child’s life.
- Favorite moment after the Children’s Message? Getting my usual hug from Sheila, who whispered in my ear, “Danny’s coming home today!!!” Danny is Sheila’s brother who is being adopted from Haiti–just as Sheila was.
- I have been trying to write this sentence for ten minutes: I just don’t know how to put into words how powerful and amazing the My Bible Blessing ceremony was. To see those parents and kids looking into each other’s eyes and making those promises to each other. Oh my. Oh my. Oh my.
- I loved the Love Out Loud video and the new direction for the Youth Car Wash. Check the videos out here.
- Education Hour workers picnic after church…awesome fun to see kids and grown-ups playing all kinds of games together. Hanging out. Chit chatting. Those folks give of their time all year so that we can all engage in God’s Word. I love ‘em. Here’s a picture of the bunch:
