Tracy and Cathy

  • Hands down, my favorite thing about First Trinity is the people. I am often struck on Sunday mornings (and Saturday nights, if I’m there), by people who are showing up to worship God in the midst of their lives…and often in the midst of extreme joys or extreme challenges and sorrows. This morning I ran into Bob Snyder before the 8:45 service. He has been in an out of the hospital several times since April. Lots of scary times. His words to me were “…but the Lord has been so good to me.”
  • I agree with Pastor Chuck: it is great to see all the dads in church.  Happy Father’s Day to all! It’s always a little tricky at the children’s message because there are some kids who don’t have dads, either because they’ve died, or because of divorce or because of adoption by a single mom…I want to celebrate dads AND at the same time not hurt kids who don’t have dads who are present. It’s a great thing to remember that we ALL have a Heavenly Father.
  • It was fun to celebrate and thank God for Tracy Bramwell, as she ends her stint as Kingdom Quest Director.  Tracy is a dear friend of mine, and even if she weren’t, I would be so grateful to her for being willing to come on this Kingdom Quest adventure for kids and their walk with Jesus five years ago. The great photo is of Tracy and Cathy Mongielo, who is the new director of Kingdom Quest. Welcome to the ride, Cathy!! May God bless your work.
  • This was a great day to watch golf. The US Open has been so much fun! I can’t decide if I want Tiger Woods or Rocco Mediate. Rocco is one fun, relaxed guy. Tiger has given us some unbelievable golf moments this weekend. I wish my dad could have seen Tiger Woods play golf!
